Alex de Minaur is currently into the second set of the Quarter-FInals of the US Open as he aims to surge past Felix Auger-Aliassime and en route to that first set, he produced the sublime.
De Minaur is part Spanish and showcased some of that Spanish flair as he bamboozled his opponent. He produced an epic tweener lob on the run which has to be seen to be believed.
Often done as a final resort en route to winning a point or as a showman move, the tweener is very much one for Kyrgios or Bublik and not thought of in regards to De Minaur and the like.
But he managed to make it work to devastating effect as he not only hit a tweener but lobbed Auger-Aliassime in the process. Who seals the win, we are deep into a tie-break in the second set and De Minaur could yet go two sets up. A pivotal time awaits.
