Why is Holger Rune facing heat over his on-court behavior?

With all these comments about Holger Rune needing some classes about how to conduct himself on the tennis court, a question about the reason behind it arises. So, for those wondering why Rune is facing heat from tennis fans, here is an answer.

As Rune played Daniil Medvedev in the Indian Wells Open quarterfinal, the 20-year-old was involved in a heated exchange with the Russian ace. After Rune hit a body shot against Medvedev, the Russian was not too pleased. Medvedev asked the 20-year-old to apologize as he had not seen Rune gesturing right after the shot.

Although it was cleared soon with both players shaking hands on the net, tennis fans were not happy with Rune’s behavior hence the comments. Nevertheless, the 20-year-old looks unbothered by all the criticism as he prepares for another major tournament.

Rune will have his eyes set on the ultimate prize at the 2024 Miami Open. The 20-year-old has been given a bye in the first round. The Dane might face Fabian Marozsan in the second round. Rune is expected to make it to the pre-quarterfinals at least.
