Novak Djokovic won a stunning 41-shot rally against Alexander Zverev in the fourth set at the 2025 French Open quarterfinals, then defeated the world's No. 3 player to advance to his 13th semifinal at Roland Garros.

Djokovic bounced back after losing the first set, winning the match 4-6, 6-3, 6-2, 6-4.
The rally came at a critical juncture in the fourth set, with Zverev seeking a break point down 3-2. They played four more points before Djokovic saved his service game for a 4-2 set advantage.
In 2024, Djokovic withdrew from the French Open due to a knee injury after reaching the quarterfinals, one year after winning his third Coupe des Mousquetaires.
Historically, the 24-time men's grand slam singles title winner has fared worse at Roland Garros than at the sport's three other majors (Australian Open, Wimbledon and U.S. Open), with his 17 losses the most among the four grand slam events.
Djokovic's path gets harder in the semis, where he'll play world No. 1 Jannik Sinner.
Sinner hasn't dropped a set at this year's tournament and cruised in the quarters against Alexander Bublik, winning 6-1, 7-5, 6-0. He's also won three in a row against Djokovic, most recently the 2024 ATP Masters 1000 Shanghai final.
Djokovic leads in major matches, 2-1, defeating Sinner in five sets during the quarterfinals at the 2022 Wimbledon and again the following year in straight sets during the semifinals. Sinner won most recently at the 2024 Australian Open semifinals in four sets.
