Meeting their favorite sportsperson is a dream moment for many. One such fan had her dream come true at Wimbledon when the two-time defending champion Carlos Alcaraz gave her his autograph. She screamed with joy and disbelief on receiving the autograph, a reaction that has now gone viral on social media.

The Spaniard was shown a clip of the fan’s priceless reaction and asked about it on ESPN’s ‘Wimbledon Match Point’. Alcaraz mentioned that he did notice the fan then and tried to control his laughter at that moment:

Yeah I saw, I remember (the lady). I couldn’t laugh (initially) because I had to just stay a little serious but I was happy… It makes my day, honestly, feels amazing.

Alcaraz is a strong favorite to win the Wimbledon title this year. He is on a 21 match winning streak across two surfaces, having won four of the last five tournaments he played in. Alcaraz’s ongoing match win streak is the third longest amongst active tennis players, followed by Novak Djokovic (43) and Jannik Sinner (26).The five-time Grand Slam champion is a great all-surface player, but his performance on grass in particular is phenomenal, with four titles on this surface and a staggering 91℅ match win rate on this surface.

Carlos Alcaraz will meet Andrey Rublev in his next round at Wimbledon

Carlos Alcaraz was pushed to a tough five-set battle by Italy’s Fabio Fognini as the 22-year-old began his title defense at Wimbledon. His second round was relatively easier with a straight set victory over Great Britain’s Oliver Tart.

He overcame Germany’s Jan-Lennard Struff in four sets in the third round to set up a fourth-round clash with 2023 quarterfinalist Andrey Rublev. Speaking about his upcoming opponent at the post-match press conference, Alcaraz remarked:

Andrey is a very powerful player. I think he always plays well on grass because he loves to be aggressive. When he finds his forehand, he loves to move his opponent from side to side. It’s going to be very tough facing him because on grass, mobility is really the trickiest aspect to nail down.

Alcaraz has a 2-1 head-to-head record over the Russian, and the fourth round match will mark their first meeting on grass. Rublev defeated Laslo Djere, Lloyd Harris, and Adrian Mannarino in the previous rounds of the tournament.

Another priceless interaction with a fan at Wimbledon

Carlos Alcaraz’s humble and classy gestures make him a huge fan favorite. During his opening round match at Wimbledon another gesture by Alcaraz caught the attention of fans resulting in loads praising the Spaniard for his classy act.

The first day of the Wimbledon Championships this year crossed the record for the hottest opening day in the tournament’s history. The soaring temperatures affected not only the players but also the spectators.

Alcaraz’s first round match witnessed a delay when a spectator required medical attention. Noticing the woman who had taken ill, Alcaraz rushed to give her a water bottle. His thoughtful gesture won the hearts of fans, and the Spaniard also sent a heartfelt message for the lady on X, responding to her daughter’s tweet.
