The victory over Flavio Cobolli means that Novak Djokovic has reached his 14th Wimbledon semifinal.

At 38, the Serbian legend’s form leaves little doubt about his chances of matching Roger Federer’s eight-title record at Wimbledon.

Cobolli will take plenty from this experience, and what he’s achieved this year could set him up well going forward.

Kyrgios has been impressed with Djokovic throughout this tournament, and now a semifinal clash with Jannik Sinner is on the horizon.

There’s a good level of respect across the ATP Tour, and it was clear between Cobolli and Djokovic after their quarterfinal match.

Following the match, Djokovic took to Instagram to say: “Huge respect Flavio Cobolli, great player, great future. As for me? Not done yet. Semifinals…”

Cobolli appreciated the words from one of tennis’ all-time greats and responded in kind.

He replied: “Thank you, Novak Djokovic. It has been an honour. See you all soon. Good luck.”

The two recently faced off at Roland Garros last month, adding another layer of familiarity to what should be a compelling contest.

Djokovic’s biggest challenges at Wimbledon have yet to come

Novak Djokovic knows his days of stacking up Grand Slam titles are behind him, but there’s still a strong desire to add one more major before he calls time on his career.

It’s been nearly a year since he last won a major, but sitting on 24 Grand Slam titles, the motivation to reach 25 is clear.

If he’s going to do it at Wimbledon this year, he’ll likely need to get past Jannik Sinner and then Carlos Alcaraz. He already has a win over Alcaraz this season after their meeting at the Australian Open.

This year’s draw hasn’t put Djokovic under much pressure yet, but that should change against Sinner.

With his track record on grass, Djokovic will see this as a real chance and will be pushing hard to reach what would be his seventh straight final at SW19.
