The ROG Ally X, priced at $999.99 ERP, is built for high-performance gaming on the go, while the standard ROG Xbox Ally offers a more accessible entry at $599.99 ERP. Both devices run Windows 11 and deliver a console-inspired Xbox experience, complete with ergonomic controller-style grips and a full-screen interface. Players can preorder through Xbox.com, the Microsoft Store (U.S.), ASUS eShop, and select retailers.

Each handheld comes with three months of Game Pass, unlocking hundreds of titles playable across console, PC, and handheld. The devices support native play for installed PC games, remote play from your console, and Cloud Gaming (Beta) for streaming console titles anywhere. With Xbox Play Anywhere, users can access over 1,000 supported games with a single purchase across platforms.

Features, Compatibility, and Accessories for On-the-Go Gaming

The Ally series introduces several first-of-their-kind features tailored for mobile gamers. A dedicated button opens an enhanced Game Bar overlay, allowing users to launch games, chat with friends, and access ROG’s Armoury Crate SE. The aggregated game library integrates titles from Game Pass, Battle.net, and other major PC platforms, streamlining access to your favorite titles.

To ensure optimal handheld performance, Xbox has launched the Handheld Compatibility Program, which identifies thousands of titles as “Handheld Optimized” or “Mostly Compatible.” This initiative makes it easier for players to find games that run smoothly on the Ally devices.

For content creators, reviewers, and gaming bloggers, this launch opens up rich opportunities for gaming coverage. From unboxing videos and performance breakdowns to SEO-optimized reviews and accessory roundups, the Ally X and Ally are primed to dominate search traffic this fall. Keyboards like “Ally X review”, “handheld Game Pass device”, and “portable gaming” are already trending- and early adopters who publish well-optimized content will likely see strong engagement.

A suite of accessories is also available for pre-order. Storage options include the SanDisk microSD card (up to 2TB, 200 MB/s read speed) and the Seagate FireCuda 530 SSD (1TB – 4TB), both designed for fast, seamless gameplay. For protection, the ROG Ally Premium Carrying Case features a water-repellent exterior, soft fleece lining, and a detectable charger pouch.

With powerful specs, broad compatibility, and thoughtful design, the ROG Ally X is poised to make handheld gaming more immersive and accessible than ever. As the October 16 launch approaches, Xbox fans worldwide can gear up to take their game libraries wherever they go.
