Build, Explore, Discover in Animalkind’s World

Today, at Future Games Fest, we saw a trailer for a new co-op game called Animalkind. This is an open-world building game where you play as intelligent yet adorable animals who discover—get this—an ancient Mech. Never would we think there would be a video game where little cute quadrupeds would be operating a Mech!

Let’s go into a little bit more detail about Animalkind.

Three Critters and One Ancient Mech

From the Animalkind trailer, we see that you can choose between three little animals: a cute little Corgi, an outrageously adorable tabby cat, and everyone’s secret favorite animal—the trash panda (or as North Americans like to call him, the common raccoon). That does not detract from the cuteness of this creature, though!

Each comes with its own animations, so each is vastly different in how it communicates.

So while out on a lovely little jaunt across the very well-done and massively crafted fields, they’ve discovered an ancient Mech, and they’ve decided that they are going to use it to do something wonderfully splendid. That is, make use of the supposable thumb-having contraption to build up their village, gather resources, and explore the extensive world in which they live.

Yes, we are on a journey and mission to put these cute little critters on top of the food chain by creating a civilization for them to live in. And quite honestly, they might just do a better job than we have!

Private Servers and Custom Style

This game, though marketed as a co-op game, can be soloed. But if you want to have even more fun, you can actually invite up to three friends to be part of your game, and it’s hosted on private servers.

Even more wonderfully is that you do not have to stick to the basic build that the Mech comes in, as it is fully customizable itself—along with the character you chose at the beginning. Choose between different fur colors and accessories for your cute little cuddly creature in order to show off your particular style!

More Than Just Cozy

But what is a game without its lore? Now, while Animalkind boasts the cute characters and the cozy vibe, it is by no means one-dimensional! Players are able to explore and uncover hints about what transpired before your character decided to start their adventure!
