It’s been nine years of screams, chases, generators, and chaos—and Dead by Daylight is still going strong. At this year’s PAX East, Behaviour Interactive pulled back the curtain on what’s coming next for the game, while also taking time to celebrate how far they’ve come.

Community Director Eric Pope and DBD Creative Lead Matt Cote opened the presentation with a bit of reminiscing. They recalled how Dead by Daylight first showed up at PAX with a “weird little horror game idea” in a corner booth. That “weird little idea” is now a global phenomenon with 38 killers and 45 survivors.

FNAF, Resident Evil, and a New Doctor in the Fog

While the nostalgia was strong, the team came ready with updates. The Five Nights at Freddy’s collab is official, with Springtrap entering the Fog as the newest killer and Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria as the latest map. It’s one of the most-requested crossovers of all time, and the fan response has been nothing short of explosive.

They also spotlighted recent licensed chapters, including the popular Tokyo Ghoul collab, and a new original chapter called Steady Pulse, featuring survivor Orela Rose, who appears to be an EMT. From May 6–27, all proceeds from her outfits (Day Shift and Night Shift) will go to the CHU Sainte-Justine Foundation in Montreal.

Looking Ahead: Year 10 Dead By Daylight Roadmap

Behaviour revealed the content plan leading into Year 10:

  • 3 licensed chapters
  • 2 original chapters
  • One based on Asian horror folklore
  • One chapter with two iconic survivors
  • And one big licensed drop to close out the year

But it’s not just new characters—Phase One (April–June) is focused on quality of life improvements. That includes:

  • Faster bulk bloodpoint spending
  • Fixes to the quest system
  • Hotkeys for custom matches
  • Ability to play limited-time event modes in customs
  • Delayed hotfix releases to ensure more comprehensive updates

The team emphasized that community feedback matters, and they’re listening. With more transparency, more content, and more killer chaos on the way, Dead by Daylight isn’t slowing down—if anything, it’s just getting warmed up.
