As EA UFC 6 inches closer to release, EA Sports is beginning to pull back the curtain on some of the game's biggest additions. The latest Game Modes Deep Dive revealed a major overhaul to the single-player experience, headlined by a new narrative mode called 'The Legacy,' a revamped Career Mode, and an entirely new Hall of Legends experience.
While previous UFC games primarily focused on climbing the rankings and chasing championship gold, UFC 6 is placing a much larger emphasis on storytelling, fighter management, and player-driven outcomes. Together, these new modes aim to take players beyond the Octagon and deeper into the life, decisions, and legacy of a UFC fighter.
The biggest addition is 'The Legacy,' an all-new narrative prologue built around the journey of fictional fighter Chris Carter.
The story spans three phases of Carter's career, following him from a decorated collegiate wrestler to the UFC. Along the way, players will deal with team pressure, personal rivalries, and the lasting influence of Carter's father.
EA says the world reacts to player decisions through commentary and social media, helping shape the rivalry between Carter and Danny Robbins while pushing the story both inside and outside the Octagon.
Once The Legacy concludes, players can continue Carter's story, create their own fighter, or begin a career as an existing UFC athlete.
The biggest change may be the increased emphasis on player choice. EA Sports says UFC 6 features 10 times more choices than UFC 5, with decisions affecting everything from fighter attributes and fan support to cash and hype.
That represents one of the largest expansions to Career Mode decision-making the franchise has seen and should make each playthrough feel more unique.
New additions include:
Decisions can impact skill points, fans, cash, attributes, hype, fitness, and other career outcomes.
Another new mode arriving in UFC 6 is Hall of Legends, an entirely new experience for the franchise.
The mode features three interactive halls dedicated to Alex Pereira, Max Holloway, and Weili Zhang.
Players can explore culturally inspired environments, watch interactive videos, view authentic artifacts, and relive defining moments from each fighter's career. Iconic fights are recreated with objectives tied to key moments and strategies, with rewards available upon completion.
EA says cultural advisors were consulted during development to help ensure each environment remained authentic to the athletes and cultures being represented.
EA Sports also revealed The Gym, a lighter progression system that allows players to recruit, train, and customize fighters across the roster.
The deep dive highlight several fighter archetype categories, including 'Smashing Machines,' 'Heavy Hitters,' 'Snipers,' 'Dynamic Strikers,' 'Pressure Fighters,' and 'Unbreakable Fighters.' Players can recruit athletes, assign trainers, improve success rates, and level up their gym over time.
The progression system also features:
One screenshot showcased Carlos Prates with a dedicated rewards track that included coins, fighter-themed cosmetics, and customization items. Another screen displayed recruitment progress and success percentages for numerous UFC athletes, suggesting players will be able to grow and expand their roster as they advance.
While EA says The Gym does not directly affect gameplay, it appears designed to give players another layer of progression and a way to show support for their favorite fighters through rewards, customization, and collection-building.
Between The Legacy, Hall of Legends, The Gym, and a significantly deeper Career Mode, EA UFC 6 appears to be making its biggest push yet toward delivering an experience that extends well beyond fight night. If the features perform as advertised, this could be one of the most ambitious single-player offerings the franchise has delivered to date.
