The LCK Rise and Legend Group battled for the first time, with BRO taking on NS. The Rise Group battles return with Dplus taking on FearX. DK has gotten the better of BFX throughout the year, but now that they move onto a Bo5, anything is possible. The winner of the series will face off against Nognshim for a spot in the LCK Playoffs.
The series between DK and BFX starts at 1:00 AM PT (10:00 AM CET). The Rise Group teams have battled in multiple Bo3 series for the past six weeks, but now they get a chance to play against each other in a Bo5.
Throughout the year, DK has played against BFX six times. Of those six series, BFX has only managed to win one series, which was a 2-0 in the Rise Group. All six series have been Bo3s.
The two teams had similar records during the Rise Group. DK went 9-3, while BFX was 8-4. They were comfortably the two best teams in a chaotic Rise Group.
No one encapsulates DK’s Rise Group performance more than Siwoo. His inconsistencies have often led to DK’s struggles. He has the highest potential out of all the players on this roster. If Siwoo is in dominant form, which he was in during the final weeks, DK should comfortably win the series. The champions that Siwoo plays are also significant. Whenever he plays tanks, his value is diminished, but Siwoo on carries has been decisive.
Diable is the most aggressive bot laner in the LCK. He rarely gives up any space for free. When his team has the advantage and plays around him, they succeed. However, he has often been a target for teams. If he can not temper that aggression in the vital moments, DK might punish him for it. Especially with Beryl on the enemy team, any misstep will be punished. Is this the time that Diable emerges as one of the best bot laners against Aiming?
DK 3-2 BFX
DK might be on the rise, but despite their successes, the problems remain. They tend to throw leads too often, and against a team like BFX, they will have no room for mistakes. BFX fights for everything, and DK must be ready for that. Siwoo’s inability to play tanks will also come back to bite DK in the series, where he is forced to play those champions in certain drafts.
With NS and BRO having played out their series, DK and BFX know their upcoming opponents. The winner of tomorrow’s series will face NS to decide who is advancing to the LCK Playoffs. The loser battles a fellow Rise Group Team, BRO, to stay alive in the Play-Ins.
