In the preview for the week, we mentioned how pivotal the DRX versus DN Freecs series could be. For DRX, they keep their hopes alive for Play-In qualification with a 2-0 victory in today’s series. NS had chances to win their second game since their return to the LCK, but GenG shut the door in their face. NS must now win all three series left to guarantee a finish above KT Rolster.
Initial Prediction
DRX 2-1 DNF
Result
DRX 2-0 DNF
Summary
With only four series left to go in the LCK regular season, DRX needs every win they can get. Today was the first step in qualification, but they still depend on BRO and BFX fumbling. The games in this series were close for most of the game, but when it came to the vital team fights, DRX emerged victorious. Teddy was a standout throughout, playing his positioning near-perfectly to survive the dive compositions from DNF, while dealing consistent damage. Rich struggled in a large portion of game two, but after Sponge helped kill DuDu in the side lane, Rich took over. His team fighting prowess meant he could not be ignored, buying space for Teddy to carry.

Summary
The series felt like GenG letting their foot off the pedal. It was far from the dominant performances they have shown in recent weeks, even considering last week’s game against NS. Credit must go to NS for making the series close at times. However, even with GenG’s dip in performance, they are still better than their opponents. Duro continues to be a standout on this roster, despite the players he plays alongside. His engagements almost always hit at the perfect times and find the exact targets that GenG are looking for. Challenging GenG is not enough for NS, as a win would have gone a long way toward qualifying for the playoffs.
