Well, this is one of the more interesting games we’ve seen in a while. It’s called Particle Hearts—a third-person adventure title developed by Underwater Fire and published by First Break Labs. What makes it stand out? The entire game world, including the characters, is made up of particles. Yes, all of it.

The last time we saw this kind of tech-forward visual storytelling was in some of the LiDAR-inspired games from earlier this year, but Particle Hearts takes that vibe in a whole new direction.

So What’s the Game About?

Like we said, Particle Hearts drops you into a world where everything is built from swirling, living particles—including your own character. Your main goal? Uncover the mysteries behind this strange but beautiful world using particle manipulation powers.

As you explore, you’ll run into various creatures. Some are helpful, guiding you toward answers. Others? Not so much. Some would rather chuck you into a creek bed than let you solve anything. The deeper you go, the more you’ll collect memories, unlock hidden paths, and piece together your connection to the land itself.

Be careful, though: the environment isn’t just a pretty backdrop of particle wonder—it hides things, keeps you unbothered in this world of pretty colors, and plays with the idea that there’s always more than meets the eye.

Key Features

  • Multiple Abilities: Gain powers that let you solve puzzles, use them to stay away from enemies like they’re debt collectors, and access secret areas.
  • Environmental Manipulation: Everything is made of particles, and you can interact with it all in creative ways.
  • Exploration First: A fully open world to explore—go wherever you want, if you have the skill (and powers) to reach it.
  • Blurred Lines: Friends, enemies, and story elements are all woven into one mysterious narrative. Who can you trust? That’s up to you.

What We Know So Far

You can wishlist Particle Hearts on Steam right now, but there’s no official release date yet. That said, the concept looks solid, the visuals are striking, and if you’re into story-driven exploration games with just the right amount of atmospheric mystery, it’s definitely worth keeping on your radar.
