Riot has announced a delay of the release date for the World’s Music Video. The MV will release on October 13th instead of October 10th. The reasoning behind the delay is that the MV showed Bwipo as the representative for North America. Due to his recent comments regarding women’s period affecting their capabilities to go pro in Esports, Riot has decided to remove him from the MV and needs time to make adjustments.

Riot Delays World’s Music Video Release Date

Riot announced on X that the World’s MV release will be on October 13th instead of the intended October 10th. Gabriël “Bwipo” Rau appeared in the MV, but due to his recent comments, he has been removed from the piece dedicated to League of Legends history. Removing him requires significant time to edit, which causes the delay. Bwipo was representing the Americas region, but given that he is being edited out, the Americas will not appear during the MV.

Riot Finally Takes Action

After Bwipo’s comments, the only action taken against him was FlyQuest suspending him from one LTA Championship match, and they gave his prize money to help women in Esports. Riot did not make any comment on the situation, despite the community outcry and the desire for more action to be taken. Finally, Riot has stepped in a big way. It hurts the Americas region, which is unfortunate given that they did nothing wrong. They are suffering from the choices and actions of one of their players, who represents the region.

Bwipo’s actions have now made a negative impact on a region that he has tried to build up. The FlyQuest roster is intended to be one of the most historic in the West’s history. However, having a player from the roster that costs the region’s representation stains the way everyone views the roster.

The decision is a step in the right direction to recover what Bwipo has caused. His participation in the World Championship does sting, and he should face further action, but this is a start.

The only concern is that Cui “Shanks” Xiaojun, who threatened to assault a girl live on stream, has yet to face sanctions for his actions. If he appears in the MV, the community might cause an uproar.
