Runeterra: Path of Champions: 5 Strongest Decks in Legends of
- Image from Runeterra: Path of Champions courtesy of Riot Games

There are 61 decks to choose from in Path of Champions. While they are all viable in their own way, some of them are just so much better than the others. Mostly these benefits come from their Star Powers, but there are a few can synergize exceptionally well with some of the Powers you collect during the game. Here are 5 of the strongest, in my not-so-humble opinion.

Aurelion Sol: The God of Path of Champions

The biggest, baddest, bossiest deck in the game. It is, quite honestly, a little ridiculous. The fact that you can instantly level up any Champion that happens to be in the deck offers a considerable amount of flexibility. Not to mention the fact that you can lower their cost just by playing cards.

Another powerful aspect of the deck is that you can equip ASol with The Deceiver’s Crest and gain a free use of his Champion Spell. At 15 damage, that is usually enough to take out your opponent’s entire side of the field and, even if it’s not, they will be less inclined to attack you with a unit that weak.

Yasuo: A Stunning Display of Skill

Stun everything. Constantly. And then kill it. Not only does this provide you with a level of safety, since you stun the opponent’s strongest unit at the start of every turn. Once you have Yasuo actually out on the field, you can start killing those stunned units.

A good combination with Yasuo is to give him the Everfrost Relic. While yes, it is a green Relic, it will stun the opponent’s entire lineup, even though Spell Shield, allowing Yasuo to attack and, if his Power is high enough, kill them all.

Vex: Death is Inevitable

Vex’s Star Power that converts all spell damage to Gloom, effectively pulls double duty in Path of Champions. Not only does it reduce the Health of the target by the same amount as it would if it were normal damage, but it also reduces their Power. This potential removes considerably dangerous threats without necessarily having to tank any attacks.

The best part is that, once you’ve afflicted a unit with Gloom, it’s an almost guaranteed death sentence. Every turn, they will gain more Gloom thanks to Vex’s Star Power, which means they will eventually run out of Health and die.

And since it’s reducing their maximum amount of Health, Regeneration can’t save them. However, this does mean that them dying doesn’t count as Killing or Slaying, but that’s ok.

Lux: Lighting the Way to an Easy Victory

When played correctly and with the right Powers, Lux allows you to attack multiple times per turn, while also shielding any character of your choice with Barrier. All you have to do is spend up to 6 mana. Every time you do, you create a 0 Cost Golden Aegis.

Using that lets you Rally. And, best part, it’s not Fleeting so if you elect not to use it one turn, it will still be there the next turn. And it will still be 0 cost.

Gwen: Running With Scissors is Actually Good For You

Hallowed stacks + Luden’s Echo = a massive amount of Nexus damage and Life Steal. That’s really all there is. I suppose the one downside is that you are entirely dependent on Gwen for the damage of this deck, but there are ways to ensure her safety, so that’s not too much of an issue.
