Bloober Team was responsible for the Silent Hill 2 Remake, and it was an instant success, with long-time fans of the series feeling nostalgia, and new players loving the oppressive atmosphere that is Silent Hill 2. At its release, and until this point, Silent Hill 2 has been available only on PlayStation and PC. However, with the upcoming release of the new Switch 2, rumors have been swirling about some games that will be available on the new console, and Silent Hill 2 is apparently a part of that list of games.
With the announcement of the new Switch 2 console releasing sometime next year, people have been speculating on what games will be available on the platform. A list of games has been confirmed to appear on the Switch 2, including Resident Evil Village and Requiem, Hollow Knight: Silksong, and Cronos: The New Dawn. Now, the rumor mill has been working overtime, because according to well-known leakers, Silent Hill 2 will be joining this lineup of games to appear on the Switch 2 and Xbox Series.
According to a well-known leaker, Dusk Golem, posted on X,
“(1/2) I’ve been busy with some horror gaming livestreams & prepping to have friends from out of town/country stay over for Halloween for a couple weeks, but yeah the writing should be on the wall right by now that Bloober Team is getting ready to reveal the Xbox versions of”
“(2/2) Silent Hill 2 Remake, the PS5 Pro patch likely be timed with some announcements, Born From a Wish DLC should be announced sooner or later, & likely Konami is tying it around the window of the upcoming Return to Silent Hill movie based off SH2.”
None of this has been confirmed by either Konami or Nintendo, but that doesn’t mean nothing will be announced soon. There’s still a way to go until the Switch 2 releases, and many people are still waiting for other announcements. This is also somewhat plausible to believe, given the number of games that have already been confirmed to release on the Switch 2. In the meantime, we’ll have to wait for these updates going into the next year.
