What’s Going on with Roblox? Major Roblox YouTuber Banned for Exposing Creeps

Roblox is one of the biggest online gaming platforms on the internet. I know because my 11-year-old won’t stop talking about it! However, in recent news, the gaming platform has been coming under fire for privacy and security issues and its inability to protect our young ones from online sexual predators. Now, Roblox YouTuber Schlep has been alleged banned on the platform for catching these creeps in the act. Here’s all you need to know.

Cease and Desist

According to the YouTuber’s X account on August 9, Roblox has reportedly sent a cease and desist notice to Schlep after his involvement in exposing sexual predators on the platform. The letter states the YouTuber’s “actions are a violation of policies and directly undermine Roblox’s safety efforts and, critically, are exposing our users to increased risk.” The letter also claims that Schlep’s methods of handling such matters are interfering with their ability to engage safety protocols, therefore are endangering users and players to increased risk.

Schlep’s Response

Since then, Schlep and his management team have posted a YouTube video disputing these claims, arguing that Schlep’s actions have actually assisted in containing online predators, stating that this past year alone, Schlep has managed to get 6 different predators arrested using his methods of exposing them on the online platform. Schlep also claims that he has tried multiple times to contact Roblox of safety concerns, though they had never reached out until sending the cease and desist letter.

Roblox has come under fire for struggling to keep young users safe from online predators, with a rising number of reports of online criminal activity on the platform, specifically involving children. Though Roblox content is moderated, there are no safety protocols in place to prevent such activity from occurring. Roblox has actively updated their interface to combat online sexual harassment involving underaged children, but it isn’t enough. More and more children are becoming susceptible to this activity and Roblox is having a hard time keeping their users safe and protected.

Schlep is a 22 year old social media content creator mainly known for his content on Roblox. He currently has over 888,000 subscribers, over 200 videos on YouTube, and has said he was a victim of child abuse and grooming.
