Where To Find And Pet All Cats In Cronos The New Dawn

You’re probably knee-deep in this apocalyptic nightmare that is Cronos The New Dawn, dodging mutants and solving puzzles, when suddenly you hear it. That adorable little meow that makes your heart skip a beat. Yes, even in the middle of humanity’s darkest hour, there are kitties to find and even to pet. Because apparently, even the end of the world can’t stop the cuteness of a furry baby.

Cronos The New Dawn’s Cat-pocalyptes “Pet Store”

Okay! So….why are there cats in a post-apocalyptic wasteland? Sure, they’re adorable and give you those warm fuzzy feelings in an otherwise terrifying game, but why do we care? Well, fellow Travelers, just like the proud hunters they are, they collect some pretty decent loot. When you pet them, they are willing to give you some supplies, ammunition, and upgrade materials. Basically, all the good stuff you desperately need to survive. And no, sadly, you can’t pick them up and take them with you. Not the best idea to have them in your suit and blow your stealth.

The developers at Bloober Team clearly knew what they were doing when they scattered these cute collectibles throughout the game. There’s nothing quite like the relief of finding a friendly face when you’re lost in some creepy underground tunnel system. Just don’t let their eyes freak you out when you’re traveling in the dark.

As for spotting them, you will need to “see” with your ears. It’s your golden ticket to finding these hidden treasures. They’re not gonna be waiting out in the open for you to stumble upon them. You’re gonna need to stay quiet and listen for that telltale meowing sound. Sometimes they’re behind locked doors, sometimes they’re in secret areas that require a bit of creative thinking to access. Once you find a cat, all you need to do is walk up and pet it. No complex interactions, no special items required – just good old-fashioned virtual pet therapy. They will drop the goodies and scamper off, probably to find another survivor who needs some emotional support.

The Complete Guide to All 10 Cat Locations in Cronos The New Dawn

Borowka – Your First Furry Friend

Starting easy, Borowka is practically handed to you on a silver platter. You’ll find this little guy in the underground shopping center while you’re hunting down the Predecessor. Since it’s part of the main story path, you’d have to be actively trying to miss this one. Consider it your tutorial introduction – a gentle greeting to the world of virtual pet collecting.

Mela – The Bolt Cutter Captive

Now things get a bit trickier. Mela is hanging out behind a chained door that you can only access after grabbing those trusty bolt cutters from the hardware store outside the Sector D-3 Housing Complex. Here’s where the game wants to test your memory – you’ll need to backtrack to where you first dropped into the area. It’s a double-sided scavenger hunt with more existential dread.

Karol – The Time-Traveling Feline

Karol is probably the most interesting kitty story-wise because this clever little guy actually pops up twice. First, as your unofficial guide when you’re looking for Edward (but you can’t pet him yet, which is honestly heartbreaking), and then later in the snowy playground outside Edward’s shelter. The developers really knew how to tug at our heartstrings with this one.

Cynamon – The Electrician’s Helper

Cynamon requires some serious patience and problem-solving skills. You’ll hear them meowing and even see some tempting loot through broken windows, but you can’t reach them until you fully restore power to the tram system. It’s the ultimate delayed gratification exercise; the cat equivalent of waiting for Christmas morning.

Mid-Game Cat Encounters

Merlin – The Gravity Wizard

Once you get your hands on those sweet Gravity Boots at the Steelworks, Merlin becomes accessible. This dramatic little fellow will literally burst through a door in front of you (talk about making an entrance), and you’ll find him during the gravity jumping section. When the path splits, you’ll need to climb up the wall and activate an oddity – because apparently, even cats require advanced parkour skills in this game.

Balbina – The Power Plant Princess

Balbina is another cat that teaches you the importance of timing and observation. After you restore power to the Terminal, don’t just walk away feeling accomplished – turn around immediately. That previously locked door will now be open with a cheerful green light, and your feline friend will be waiting inside like she owns the place.

Gus – The Apartment Dweller

Gus is probably the trickiest cat to find, hidden away in what can only be described as a gravity-powered apartment complex. During your journey to the Hospital, you’ll be jumping from pad to pad when you land on the side of a building. Instead of just walking through like a normal person, you need to look left and shoot some wooden boards to reveal a secret gravity pad. Because nothing says “cat hiding spot” like a secret anti-gravity elevator.

End-Game Feline Buddies

Bebola – The Hospital Mortician

Bebola hangs out in Unity Hospital, specifically in the Operation Block by the Morgue. This location requires you to have the Access Card, so it’s definitely a late-game find. There’s something both comforting and slightly unsettling about finding a cat in a hospital morgue, but hey, cats have always been mysterious creatures. And like the dead have an issue with them.

India – The Electronics Store Mascot

India is another puzzle cat, visible through a window in a safe room near the end of Station B. You’ll need to power up the electronics store, enter the KIOSK door, break some boards, and squeeze through a gap. The developers purposely designed an obstacle course specifically for cat lovers with commitment issues.

Freya – The Cemetery Guardian

Last but certainly not least, Freya waits near the cemetery by the church door with a puzzle on your way to The Abbey. After opening the cemetery gate, use those bolt cutters again to open a chained gate, then squeeze through a gap to find this final feline friend. It’s oddly poetic that your cat-collecting journey ends in a cemetery – a reminder that even in the darkest places, there’s still hope and companionship to be found.

Final Thoughts: The Physical and Emotional Achievements

If you’re going for that coveted “Catfinder” trophy or achievement, you’ll need to find and pet all 10 of these furry friends. The good news is that the items they drop aren’t actually required for the achievement. It’s all about that sweet, sweet virtual pet action (though that satisfying 100% completion rate doesn’t hurt). Finding all the cats in Cronos The New Dawn is more than about completing your collection. It gives you the chance to take a moment to find joy and connection in a world that’s literally falling apart. These little interactions remind us why we fell in love with gaming in the first place – those small, perfect moments that make all the zombie-dodging and puzzle-solving worth it.
