All Vault Key Fragment Locations in Borderlands 4

The sprawling world of Kairos in Borderlands 4 is filled with secrets to uncover and powerful loot to acquire. Among the most rewarding endgame activities are the Primordial Vaults, challenging arenas that offer exclusive rewards. But before you can claim the treasures within, you must first prove your worth by assembling a key for each vault. This requires hunting down three hidden fragments scattered across each of the planet’s major zones. This guide will show you where to find vault key fragments in Borderlands 4, providing detailed maps and instructions for every fragment in The Fadefields, Carcadia Burn, and Terminus Range. How to Find Vault Key Fragments Each of the three main zones on Kairos—The Fadefields, Carcadia Burn, and Terminus Range—contains one Primordial Vault and three corresponding key fragments. While you can stumble upon these fragments through pure exploration, there is a more systematic approach. Throughout each zone, you will discover Order SILOs. Hacking the console at these SILOs will not only unlock a new fast travel point and reward you with SDU Credits but also mark a large search area on your map for a nearby fragment. Your ECHO-4 device will then act as a scanner, indicating your proximity to the fragment as you get closer. While hacking SILOs is helpful, it isn’t required. You can use this guide to go directly to each fragment’s location and speed up the collection process. The Fadefields Vault Key Fragment Locations The first set of fragments can be found in the arid, rocky landscape of The Fadefields. You will need to find all three to open the vault located in The Stubs. 1. Coastal Bonescape Fragment Location: Stillshore, Coastal Bonescape This fragment is located in the southwestern corner of the Coastal Bonescape region, within the Stillshore point of interest. After unlocking the Stockroom SILO or fast-traveling nearby, head west toward the shoreline. You will find the Vault Key Fragment sitting on a wooden box just outside one of the dilapidated houses, near a tower with a slow-spinning fan. 2. The Howl Fragment Location: Cave Overhang, The Howl Located in The Howl region, this fragment is tucked away inside a cave with a large, noticeable entrance. It’s positioned north-northeast of The Launchpad landmark. The easiest way to approach is from the north side of the cave system. The fragment rests on a ledge inside, nestled into the stone structure. 3. Idolator’s Noose Fragment Location: Rosemary’s Reserve, Idolator’s Noose You can find this fragment within the Dissected Plateau area, specifically inside the Rosemary’s Reserve point of interest in Idolator’s Noose. Look for a grapple-able vent on a wall southeast of the main Propaganda Tower. Pull the vent open to reveal a hidden room. The Vault Key Fragment is inside, sitting in a corner under some red lighting. Carcadia Burn Vault Key Fragment Locations The fiery, industrial wasteland of Carcadia Burn hides the next set of three fragments. Collecting them will grant you access to the vault hidden beneath a broken bridge in the Grindstone of the Worthy. 1. Lopside Fragment Location: One Pumper Gas Station, Lopside This fragment is found in the Lopside region, south of the Makeshift Chalet safehouse. Follow the main road until you spot a rundown gas station with a “One Pumper” sign. On the side of the building, you will see a grapple node. Grapple up to the second-story open-air floor, where you’ll find the Vault Key Fragment resting on a long dining table. 2. Ruined Sumplands Fragment Location: Hull’s Handbasket, Ruined Sumplands Head to the northwest area of the Ruined Sumplands. The fragment is located near the water’s edge, just northeast of the Hull’s Handbasket point of interest. To find it, go to the left of the large bridge that leads north and head down the hill toward the water. The fragment will be sitting on the ground near the shoreline. 3. Tonnage Peel Fragment Location: Wreck of the Last Great Hope, Tonnage Peel This fragment is hidden deep within the massive shipwreck that dominates the Tonnage Peel region. The entrance to the correct path is not obvious from the map marker. You need to get underneath the southeast portion of the ship. Follow the road that runs alongside the wreck and find an entrance on the ship’s southwest-facing wall. Proceed through the passage until you find a vent on the floor marked by a blinking red light. Grapple the vent open, drop down, and follow the short path to find the Vault Key Fragment. Terminus Range Vault Key Fragment Locations The final set of fragments is scattered across the frozen peaks and treacherous valleys of the Terminus Range. Finding these will unlock the last and most well-hidden Primordial Vault. 1. Cuspid Climb Fragment Location: Hidden Cave, Cuspid Climb This fragment is located near the center of the Cuspid Climb region. It’s highly recommended to unlock The Reliquary SILO first, as you will need to use its communications balloon grapple point to reach the fragment’s location. Before grappling, look north toward a large rock bridge near a waterfall. Glide over and land near the cave entrance there. Head inside, climb up to a small ledge where two bodies are, and you will find the Vault Key Fragment on the floor. 2. The Low Leys Fragment Location: The Pit, The Low Leys Found near The Pit point of interest, this fragment requires a bit of climbing. From the road leading north toward The Pit, stop near a large dead tree. From here, look northeast for a series of rocks you can climb. Ascend the rocks to a platform where you’ll find a grapple node. Grapple further up the mountain to a higher ledge where the Vault Key Fragment is waiting. 3. Windspear Fragment Location: The Vestal Garrison, Windspear/The Low Leys border This fragment is found inside an Order base, The Vestal Garrison, located on the border between the Windspear and The Low Leys regions. Enter the base from its southern side (in The Low Leys) and clear out the Order enemies. Go inside the main building and head to the second-floor office area with computer monitors. The final Vault Key Fragment is resting on a crate below one of the large screens. Once you have collected all nine fragments, you will have unlocked all three Primordial Vaults, giving you access to some of the most challenging fights and rewarding loot in Borderlands 4.

Former HC does not hold back on Cowboys' atrocious defense

The Dallas Cowboys have played about as poorly as they possibly can on defense through the first three weeks of the NFL season. One week after needing a pair of late field goals from kicker Brandon Aubrey to outlast the New York Giants, 40-37, in overtime, the Cowboys dropped their second game in three weeks on Sunday in a 31-14 loss to the Chicago Bears, showing no signs of improvement whatsoever. Rex Ryan blasts Cowboys defense Simply put, Dallas just looks lost on defense, leading to former head coach and current ESPN analyst Rex Ryan going off during Monday's edition of "Get Up." "Just when we thought it couldn't get worse, this defense comes up with even a worse performance," Ryan said. ... "You're so dumb. I can't stand it. Do something. I don't want to hear about you can't rush the passer. Then how about we send more players on the quarterback. We can't play zone coverage, then how about we play man coverage. You guys stink. Dumbsday defense." Dallas had no answers for the Bears and QB Caleb Williams on Sunday. After struggling to find a rhythm in the first two games, Williams was sensational, throwing for 298 yards and four TDs to pick up head coach Ben Johnson's first win in Chicago. As good as Williams was, though, the Cowboys defense certainly helped. Dallas (1-2) has given up 92 points through three games and is 28th in the league in opponent points per game (30.7 PPG), per TeamRankings. Something Ryan alluded to in his rant was Dallas' inability to stop Chicago on a 19-play, 76-yard drive in the third quarter that took 9:54 off the clock. It was a 24-14 game before then, and the Cowboys were picked off on each of their final three drives afterward to seal their fate. Quarterback Dak Prescott has been solid, accounting for 800 passing yards — fourth-most in the league — and three TDs. Before Sunday, he had only thrown one interception. The run game has also contributed four combined TDs between Javonte Williams and Miles Sanders, providing a much-needed balance. That has ultimately not mattered with the defense unable to get stops and limit drives from opposing teams. To make matters worse, star wideout CeeDee Lamb suffered a left ankle injury in the loss on Sunday, and it sounds like he could land on injured reserve, which would put him out of action for at least four games. That is the last thing Dallas needs right now. The team will likely be without its best player for an extended period of time, in addition to having an abysmal defense, which does not sound encouraging going forward for a franchise that always seems to be in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons.

Notre Dame HC Marcus Freeman has message for Chris Ash after Purdue game

The defense has been the story of No. 24 Notre Dame through the first three games of the season. First-year defensive coordinator Chris Ash has struggled to pick up where Al Golden left the unit when he bolted for the Cincinnati Bengals after the national championship game. On Saturday, the Irish defense gave up 23 points to Purdue in the first half before Notre Dame ran away in the second half to win their first game of the season 56-30 in front of 77,622 fans at Notre Dame Stadium. Following the contest, Irish head coach Marcus Freeman told the media that Ash needed to do a better job of matching pressure with his coverage scheme. "Marcus Freeman says Notre Dame needs to do a better job of 'marrying up' coverage with pressure from the defensive front," wrote Tyler Horka of On3 Sports. Notre Dame was panicking on defense Freeman added that the defense was panicking when they changed coverage schemes, but couldn't stop Purdue in the first half. Boilermakers quarterback Ryan Browne diced up the zone coverage, much like Marcel Reed did in Texas A M's 41-40 win over the Irish in Week 2. Freeman defended Ash after the loss to the Aggies, saying the defense's execution was more important than the play calling. The head coach had the same message for his players after beating Purdue. "I don't think they're confused," Freeman said of the defense. "We just aren't executing. But it isn't like our guys don't know what they're doing. They know what they're doing." Freshman quarterback CJ Carr and the offense look capable of going undefeated for the rest of the regular season and competing for a spot in the College Football Playoff. But the defense is going to have to get better if they want to play meaningful football in December-January. Notre Dame's defense was a problem in Week 1 in Miami. Even though the Hurricanes were held to 27 points, Miami could have put up more points if quarterback Carson Beck had been allowed to play as aggressively in the fourth quarter as he had earlier in the game. When Ash calls zone, he's going to have to find a way to generate a pass-rush. All three quarterbacks Notre Dame has faced this season have shown an ability to find open spots in the secondary when they have time to throw in the pocket.

Rangers forward in a fight for his future amid new competition

The New York Rangers are preparing to start a transitional season, following the arrival of new head coach Mike Sullivan and some important adjustments to the squad. Among the players facing a decisive season is Brennan Othmann, a left winger who was selected in the first round of the 2021 NHL draft. Othmann, 22, is entering his third and final year of his contract with the Rangers, but his expiring deal is not the only reason why he will have to prove himself this season. The Canadian has had difficulties meeting the high expectations around him and although he may no longer have time to establish himself as a top-six forward, this is the best time to establish himself in a lower role. Othmann's clock is ticking as competition for roster spot grows Last season, he only recorded two assists in 22 games with the Rangers, but tallied 12 goals and eight assists in 27 games with the AHL Hartford Wolf Pack. In any case, now Othmann is facing heavier competition within the squad. Both Gabe Perreault and Carey Terrance have left good impressions during preseason camps, and with both having multiple years left on their contracts, the possibility that Othmann's days on the team are numbered increases. That said, the New York team needs depth, especially in the bottom-six, and Othmann must react and respond. He has the necessary grit and physicality, and if he manages to establish himself there, he could become a solid player within the bottom lineups.
