The Las Vegas Aces announced Thursday that they have hired Ty Ellis as their new assistant coach.
Head coach Becky Hammon says she is excited to have Ellis added to the team.
“I’m super excited to add Ty Ellis to our coaching staff,” said Hammon. “He brings a wealth of experience both as a head coach and as an assistant from the NBA, G League and international play. Not only is his energy palpable, but his character and work ethic are things I highly value.”
Ellis has several years of experience with USA Men’s Basketball including the 2017 gold medal-winning USA AmeriCup Team alongside Jeff Van Gundy, and the 2021 & 2022 USA World Cup Qualifying teams alongside Jim Boylen.
Ellis is excited about his new role.
“The organization’s success is a testament to the culture that Nikki, Becky, the entire staff, and players have built,” said Ellis. “Their commitment to excellence and championship-level standards in everything they do is truly inspiring. I’m grateful for the opportunity and I can’t wait to serve and add value to the entire organization.”
Ellis also has experience with the G League’s Stockton Kings for two seasons and before that, he was an assistant coach with the Phoneix Suns, so he brings a wealth of experience with him to the team
