Chelsea Gray is by far one of the most talented women’s basketball players in the world.
What a lot of people might not know is that Gray is a product of the Duke Women’s Basketball program.
Gray never forgot her roots. In Fact, she cheered for them every step of the way, even in an Elite 8 loss to the defending national champions, the South Carolina Gamecocks.
The game was one of a shootout. The back-and-forth between the two teams saw the Duke Blue Devils take a 42-38 lead heading into the fourth quarter.
The Gamecocks would not go down easy. They came thundering back, going on an 16-8 run to end Duke’s postseason run, 54-50.
Following Duke’s loss, Gray took to her social media to support her former college team.
“Proud of (Duke Women’s Basketball),” Gray said.
Proud of @DukeWBB !!
Gray spent her entire four years at Duke, playing from 2010 to 2014. She too has felt the sting of defeat, from 2011 to 2013, Duke made three consecutive Elite Eight appearances and failed to win.
In Gray’s senior year, Duke came up short in the round of 32.
