Aces stars Megan Gustafson (17) and Cheyenne Parker-Tyus (32) both recorded 20-plus point double-doubles in their last games. Both are looking to perfect their craft to push for another title in the 2026 WNBA season.
Parker-Tyus plays forward on Shandong women’s team in China. With this last game being one of her best. Going off with 29 points, 10 rebounds and 3 assists on 84.62 percent from the field. This stat line is very hard to achieve even from a big, with early and late game fatigue. She only ended up missing two shots in the whole game. This game’s stats were two to three times better than her career WNBA stats, averaging 9.1 points, 5 rebounds and 1.1 assists. Overseas she goes ballistic averaging 5.4 more points than in the WNBA, with 14.5 points per game.
Gustafson is playing for Fenerbahce of Turkey and had a near identical game to her Aces teammate, with 28 points, 10 rebounds and 3 assists on 81.25 percent from the field. Only missing three shots the whole game. This might come as a shock to some fans because she averages 4.3 points, 2.3 rebounds and 0.4 assists in the WNBA, but she is a different beast overseas. With averages of 18-plus points and 9 rebounds in her EuroLeague performances.
The Aces are coming off a championship in the 2025 season, having the MVP in A’ja Wilson as well. These performances from their two key bigs can make the 2026 season very predictable. Basketball is a sport that is heavily tied to a player’s confidence, and what else can boost a player’s confidence than a near 30-point double-double. If they keep this constant proficiency, with the help of other star players and the reigning MVP, it is hard to think of a team that can throw them off their throne this season.
Fans around the WNBA already find the Aces as a dynasty, winning three of the last four championships, but if they win this year as well, they will not just be seen as a dynasty but as the best team to ever be assembled.
