Just as the dominance continues for the Las Vegas Aces, so too has it been for A’ja Wilson.

On Tuesday, the Aces forward won the Western Conference Player of the Week award for the second consecutive week. It is the fourth time she has won the award this season, with the other times coming on June 1, July 1 and August 12.

Wilson is now in closing distance of former teammate Candace Parker for the second-most Player of the Week awards in WNBA history, with her 26 just one away from Parker’s 27. Tina Charles currently holds the record with 32.

Leading the Aces to a 3-0 record this week, Wilson averaged 27 points, 13.3 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per game. In games through August 18, Wilson currently sits first in blocks (2.1 per game), second in scoring (22.6 points per game) and rebounding (9.9 per game) and sixth in steals (1.6 per game).

Aiding Wilson’s efforts for an unprecedented fourth MVP award is her continued ascent up the record books.

With 30+-point performances in Friday’s game against the Phoenix Mercury and Sunday’s game against the Dallas Wings, Wilson has recorded at least 30 points in three of her last four games, and her 32nd game with that many points is tied with Angel McCoughtry for second all-time. She also tied Nneka Ogwumike for fifth all-time in double-doubles, recording them on Aug. 13 against the New York Liberty and against the Mercury. Against the Wings, she also reached 507 career blocks, passing Ruthy Riley (505) for ninth on the all-time list.

Wilson’s historic career continues to push her towards the record books, firmly placing her on the trajectory of becoming not only the best player on the planet, but the greatest of all time.
