Angel Reese Climbs WNBA Record Books With Elite Rebounding Milestone

Reese reached that milestone even before the Atlanta Dream closed out a 77-72 win over the Dallas Wings, handing Dallas an early setback after its strong season-opening victory over the Indiana Fever.

The 24-year-old finished with 12 points while shooting 4-for-8 from the field and a perfect 4-for-4 from the free-throw line. She also grabbed 16 rebounds, including eight offensive boards.

Along with that, Reese added two assists, one steal, and one block while playing 34 minutes. Although it was not a flawless performance, she still finished plus-1 on the floor.

On the other side, Paige Bueckers scored 15 points for the Dallas Wings, while Arike Ogunbowale led the team with 20, both outscoring Angel Reese.

But despite that, what really grabbed fans’ attention after the game was Reese’s gesture toward former Indiana Fever guard Odyssey Sims.

Angel Reese Sends Message to Dallas Crowd During Historic Performance

After struggling a bit in the opener by shooting 4-for-11, Angel Reese looked much more comfortable against the Dallas Wings.

Early in the first quarter, Allisha Gray missed a three-pointer, but Reese once again crashed the boards for a second-chance opportunity while battling former Indiana Fever guard Odyssey Sims.

After scoring, the 6-foot-3-inch-tall Reese hit the “too small” gesture while jogging back on defense. The crowd at College Park Center responded with boos, but Reese welcomed it and motioned for the fans to get even louder.

Reese alone grabbed eight offensive rebounds in the game, more than the entire Dallas team combined, becoming the fastest player in WNBA history to reach 850 career rebounds.

Now the focus shifts to whether Reese can bring the same intensity when Atlanta faces the defending champions, the Las Vegas Aces, next at State Farm Arena.
