Angel Reese is using her critics as a way to enrich herself.

Reese shared a video via TikTok on Saturday in which she discussed the negative nickname critics have given her over one part of her game. Critics believe Reese pads her statistics by rebounding her own misses and have labeled those “mebounds.”

“Whoever came up with the ‘mebounds’ thing. Y’all ate that up because rebounds, mebounds, crebounds, keybounds … anything that comes off that board, it’s mine. Whoever came up with that … the trolling, I love when y’all do that, because the ideas be good,” Reese said in the video.

Guess what? The Indiana Fever forward has since filed to trademark the term.

A company called Angel Reese LLC filed to trademark “mebounds,” with plans to use the term on clothing items such as hats, T-shirts and sweatshirts. Her trademark request was listed as “pending” as of Monday.

Reese had said she was going to use the idea to make it a six-figure business. She’s taken the first step towards that goal.

As for the nickname, it’s rooted in reality. Of the 11.9 rebounds per game that she averages this season, 4.8 come on the offensive side of the ball. All you have to do is see some of the videos involving her to know the criticism is completely legitimate.
