Angel Reese’s return from injury did not exactly go according to plan. Despite another strong performance that saw her double-double streak extend to 11 straight games, Reese still found herself on the wrong end of a 103-86 loss against the Washington Mystics.
This was Reese’s first game back after sitting out two consecutive contests due to a back injury. She picked up right where she left off, dropping a 22-point, 13-rebound double-double with three assists, three steals and two blocks in 32 minutes of action.
Nevertheless, the Sky still fell to the Mystics, marking their sixth straight loss and their 19th defeat of the season.
Reese took to social media shortly after the loss. The 23-year-old sent a cryptic message that immediately grabbed the attention of fans on the platform.
“clout is one helluva DRUG. like it really gets to a point,” she posted on X.

It is unclear what Reese was referring to here, but there’s no denying that the post has already generated significant buzz among the fans.
"Speak on it 5," a comment on X read.
"Like fr, it really gets to a point," agreed a supporter.
"All ages love clout. Who u talkin about though?" asked a reader.
It is worth noting that WNBA legend Candace Parker received some pushback earlier in the day after the latest promo of her new podcast with Indiana Fever star Aliyah Boston hit social media.

Some fans accused the former league MVP of using Reese’s name to promote her new show, “Post Moves.” More than a few reactions on Reese’s cryptic post just had to make the connection.
"Yeah Candace is getting weird. Stop showing her love it’s not reciprocated," a reaction read.
"If there was a get your money up without mentioning Angel Reese challenge, they’d lose " another said.
"Candace is ruining her legacy coming at you foul like this. ♀️" a user claimed.
"Y’all need to put some respect on Candace Parker’s name. She just tells it like it is," declared a fan.
To be clear, however, Reese did not make any mention of Parker in her post. At this point, there’s no way to tell if she was referencing the Parker issue or if it was about something else entirely.
