Angel Reese Makes Chicago Sky Admission After Another Blowout Loss

Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky lost a second straight game in blowout fashion on Tuesday, with the New York Liberty leading from start to finish for the 85-66 win.

It's now the Sky's sixth loss of the season and the fifth time they have been defeated in double digits. In their losses so far, their opponents have had an average winning margin of 20.7 points.

During Tuesday's showdown, the Liberty shot 47.9% from the field. Although they struggled shooting from deep, they still dominated the Sky and led by as many as 34 points.

Following the loss, Reese pointed to a recurring issue that the Sky need to address: defense.

The All-Star forward admitted that it's a key area where they simply need to "be better" if they hope to turn things around.

"Defense is something we have to improve on and we need to continue to just have to be better," Reese told the media, per Sky reporter Karli Bell.

For what it's worth, the numbers support Angel Reese's claim about the Sky's defense. Chicago is one of the worst defensive teams in the WNBA so far, ranking 12th in defensive rating — only ahead of the Connecticut Sun.

The Sky also allow the most points off turnovers (19.0) and the second-most second-chance points (11.4).

Unfortunately for the Sky, though, defense isn't their only problem. Their offense leaves much to be desired, as they average just 76.0 points per game — which ranks 12th in the league. They also have the second-worst offensive rating (93.5).
