Angel Reese’s 2025 season ended in disappointment despite another strong personal campaign. The Chicago Sky won just ten games and finished 12th in the standings, tied for the worst record in the league, missing the playoffs for the second straight year. Individually, Reese was one of the league’s bright spots—she led the WNBA in average rebounds per game, finishing the year with 12.6 boards in 30 games, and earned her second career All-Star selection.
But her year was also marred by injuries and controversy following critical postgame comments that led to a brief suspension and reports of tension with the Sky organization. The speculation surrounding her future in Chicago grew louder, despite the franchise reaffirming its commitment to their superstar forward.
Amid the noise, Reese has continued to thrive away from basketball. She launched her first signature shoe, the Angel Reese 1, in collaboration with Reebok, marking a major milestone in her growing business portfolio. Earlier this month, she also brought back her “Unapologetically Angel” podcast, a platform that gives fans insight into her life, mindset, and off-court ventures.
Then on Thursday, Reese announced her next big move—she will walk the Victoria’s Secret 2025 runway show for the first time on Oct. 15.
On X, she wrote: “Stepping into a dream: From Angel to a Victoria Secret ANGEL. I’m finally getting my wings I’ll be walking the Victoria’s Secret 2025 runway show for the first time, and it feels like destiny. ✨ Wings on, heels ready…Catch me on the runway @victoriassecret.”

In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, Reese revealed how emotional the moment was for her:
“I literally could not stop smiling! It’s such a surreal and full-circle moment — just last year I was in the audience manifesting being on that runway, completely inspired and in awe of all the powerful women walking down the runway, and now I get to return as an Angel. This will be an unforgettable night that I’ll forever be grateful for.”
Reese, who has long expressed interest in modeling, will make history as the first professional athlete to walk in the show. Her global partnership with Victoria’s Secret further cements her crossover appeal as both an athlete and cultural icon.
Even after a difficult WNBA season, Reese continues to grow her influence, proving that her impact extends far beyond the basketball court. The world will be watching to see how she successfully transitions into a lifelong dream of hers even as her future in Chicago remains up in the air.
