Even before she established herself as a dominant force in the paint in the WNBA, Atlanta Dream star Angel Reese had already found ultimate success in the college level.
The 6-foot-4 forward started off her college career with the Maryland Terrapins before transferring to LSU for her final two seasons. Reese helped lead the Tigers to the national championship in 2023 as a junior, during which she was named an AP All-American.
Alisa Williams was one of Reese’s teammates during that championship-winning season. On Thursday, the 6-foot-2 forward announced some big personal news, which draw an excited reaction from Reese.
Williams took to Instagram to announce her engagement to Iowa State offensive linesman Carson Rhodes.
Reese could not hide her excitement as she shared her reaction in the comments section.
“I’M GAGGEDDDDDDD,” wrote the two-time WNBA All-Star.
In another comment, Reese also said, “OMGEEEEE.” A third reaction from the former Chicago Sky star had no words. “” she posted.
Reese and Williams were teammates for just one season. Williams moved to Iowa State after winning the national championship with LSU. This was for Reese’s senior year with the Tigers, when she led the squad to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament. Reese and Co. suffered a season-ending loss to Caitlin Clark and the Iowa Hawkeyes, 94-87.
Their time together as teammates may have been brief, but it is clear from Reese’s excited reaction that she formed a lasting friendship with Williams. The Dream star is now very much looking forward to the wedding.
