Angel Reese Reacts to New Drake Song After Avoiding Kendrick Lamar Drama

Chicago Sky forward Angel Reesetook to Snapchat this week to share her love for Drake’s new song “Gimme a Hug” — showing fans a lighter, more personal side of her off the court.

In a short video on Snapchat, Reese is seen vibing to the track while singing the lyrics, “So come over here and give me some love. Yeah, give me a hug (I miss you).”

In another slide, Reese passionately continued singing to the lyrics, “I miss you hos, give me a hug, give me a hug, give me a hug.”

“Ï miss youuuuu,” she captioned the video and called it her favorite song on the album.

This post comes after she avoided picking sides in the ongoing rap feud between Drake and Kendrick Lamar. During a Q&A with the Chicago Sky last year, Reese made it clear that she had no interest in weighing in on the hip-hop rivalry.

“I’m not getting in this controversy because I’ll be on Twitter, The Shade Room, all that,” she said. “Nope!”

This isn’t the first time Reese has avoided the rap battle topic. Back at the WNBA Draft red carpet, she also ducked the question, telling reporters, “I don’t want to get in the mix. I’m out the mix!”

That cautious approach hasn’t stopped her from showing love to Drake though — and her latest post makes that obvious.

Reese revealed in “The Breakfast Club” podcast that she had interactions with Drake before. After her NCAA Championship win with LSU in 2023, she said both Drake and Future messaged her congratulations.

Now with her former LSU teammate Hailey Van Lith joining her in Chicago after being drafted 11th overall, Reese’s life — on and off the court — is only getting more exciting.

But for now, it seems like she just wants everyone to take a breath, share some love and maybe — just maybe — give her a hug.
