Angel Reese Sends Strong Message After WNBA News

Atlanta Dream star Angel Reese was named Player of the Week for games played between Aug. 24 and Aug. 30. In three games during that span, the star forward averaged 14.0 points, 17.7 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 2.3 steals.

Reese also made plenty of history in the process, including setting a new mark for the most double-doubles in a season with 29. She surpassed the previous mark of 28 set by Alyssa Thomas.

The WNBA announced Reese’s latest honor on Tuesday, with the Dream also celebrating the achievement.

Reese, for her part, also commemorated the occasion with a powerful post. She reflected on the hard work she put in and how it’s now paying off.

“It’s finally my time, look what grindin did for me,” Reese wrote in the caption of her post, which included several photos of herself on and off the court. “I wasn’t doing no cryin’ i was just telling my story. I play the hand i was dealt, i’m quick to adapt, i play the game how it go. I’M A HUSTLER BABY, look what grindin did for me.”

Reese certainly deserves the recognition. She has simply been playing on another level ever since the Dream lost to the Indiana Fever on Aug. 16. To recall, Reese admitted her frustration after the defeat since she missed what could have been a game-winner.

The 24-year-old Reese has since won Player of the Week in back-to-back weeks. During that span, she put up 19.0 points, 14.5 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 3.0 steals.

On the season, she’s now averaging 16.1 points, 12.4 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.8 steals per game.
