Angel Reese's First Post After Missing Chicago Sky Game Says It All

Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese is enduring a difficult close to her second WNBA season. After receiving an automatic one-game suspension for her eighth technical foul of 2025, Reese then received a half-game suspension from the Sky for "statements detrimental to the team" she made in a Chicago Tribune interview.

That one-game WNBA suspension was served against the Indiana Fever on Friday, and while the expectation was that Reese would return to action for the second half against the Las Vegas Aces on Sunday, she ended up missing the entire game after being ruled out with a back injury during halftime.

Speaking with reporters after Sunday's game, Sky head coach Tyler Marsh said Reese reported the back issue pregame, adding that the team will be monitoring the issue with two games remaining in the season.

"I think we got to gauge it day by day," he said (via Chicago Sky). "Obviously with two games remaining, Angel wants to be out there. So we will continue to work with her and our medical team to see what the best approach is moving forward."

This was a vague statement from Marsh that seemed to indicate the possibility of Reese's season being done. And it only heightened the belief among many that the relationship between she and the team is growing more strenuous.

Angel Reese Shares Instagram Story Post Amid Chicago Sky Uncertainty

As Reese and the Sky head toward an offseason of uncertainty and potential changes, the two-time All-Star made her first social media post since missing Sunday's game. On her Instagram story, Reese shared a video from pregame warmups with Rod Wave's "Long Journey" as the song choice.

"Gotta stay prayed up, my God got me," the lyrics say. "Life ain't easy, but every day it's a blessing. This life that I'm living, sometimes it's wild and hectic."

As she is going through a challenging time in her young career, this post from Reese says it all. She is keeping her head up amid a difficult situation, as she has done at various other points. Whether she plays again this season or is held out for Chicago's final two games, Reese has shown her ability stay strong individually, leaning on her personal beliefs and support system.

If Reese has played her final game this season, she will end her second WNBA campaign with averages of 14.7 points and 12.6 rebounds on 45.8% from the field. Her scoring and efficiency took a leap forward in year two, and her rebounding remained atop the league.
