The Atlanta Dream have impressed much of the WNBA community this season, led by Brittney Griner, Allisha Gray and Rhyne Howard.

Atlanta has proven to be a WNBA title contender, placing themselves in similar conversations with the Minnesota Lynx, New York Liberty and Phoenix Mercury.

While it's been a successful season in Atlanta, they were recently hit with a major blow to the lineup.

WNBA All-Star Rhyne Howard has been diagnosed with a left knee injury and will be sidelined for the month of July.

"Following further evaluation, Rhyne Howard has been diagnosed with a left knee injury sustained during the Atlanta Dream's game on July 11," posted Khristina Williams, per release. "Howard will be sidelined for the remainder of July and is expected to make a full recovery. A timeline will be provided when appropriate."

Rhyne Howard was recently announced as a WNBA All-Star. She was drafted by Minnesota Lynx star Napheesa Collier in the All-Star draft, but she will now need a replacement for the prestigious event.

The WNBA All-Star game will take place on July 19 in Indianapolis, the home of the Indiana Fever.

Howard has been with the Atlanta Dream since 2022. Since entering the league, Howard has been one of the lethal scorers in the WNBA.

This season, Howard has posted 16.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game. Howard ranks No. 2 on the team in scoring, behind Grady, and No. 1 in average assists.
