AU Basketball Great Odyssey Sims Returns For Season Five

Without question, Odyssey Sims proved this season in the WNBA playoffs just how she can fill up the scoresheet. The guard scored at least 17 points in four of her five appearances for the Indiana Fever, including 27 points back on Sept. 30. However, fans familiar with her via AU Basketball already know she is a scoring machine. It was announced she will make her return to AU Basketball next February, her fifth year in the league.

Last season, Sims was second on the AU Basketball leaderboard with 6,595 points. In fact, she has found herself in the top 10 on the leaderboard in all four previous seasons. What’s more, she has placed in the top three in three consecutive seasons. For Sims, a case can be made she is the most accomplished player in AU Basketball history.

She is also the only player to have over 20,000 career leaderboard points and 10,000 win points to their name. Could the 2026 season in Nashville be the Lucky Lefty’s time atop the leaderboard?

Sims and Her WNBA Career

The guard was the second overall pick in the 2014 WNBA Draft by the Tulsa Shock (now the Dallas Wings). She made the WNBA All-Rookie Team, averaging 16.7 points and 4.2 assists per game in the 2014 WNBA season.

Sims was second in the WNBA Rookie of the Year voting behind Chiney Ogwumike, who went No. 1 overall in that 2014 draft. After spending her first three seasons with the Shock/Wings, Sims played two seasons with the Las Vegas Aces (2017-2018).

Next, she headed east for two seasons with the Minnesota Lynx (2019-2020), making Second Team All-WNBA in 2019. Sims was second in the Most Improved Player as she went for 14.5 points and 5.4 assists per game in that 2019 campaign.
