The Atlanta Dream and the Seattle Storm are scheduled to play against each other at the Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, Washington, on Friday evening.

But on Thursday evening, the official PR account of the Dream announced that their center, Brittney Griner, is dealing with an issue on her left knee and was listed as “probable” for Friday’s game.

But thirty minutes before the game was about to start, it was announced that Griner would be playing during tonight's game.

"Brittney Griner (knee) will start Friday," reported Underdog WNBA on X

Due to their injury, the 34-year-old athlete missed the past two games of the season. The 10-time All-Star participated in the pre-game shootaround before the game against the Connecticut Sun on Sunday, but did not play. She was also ruled out of their game against the Los Angeles Sparks on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, veteran Jordin Canada is still out because of an injury to her right knee from a preseason game against the Washington Mystics on May 7.

Griner is a WNBA star and three-time Olympic gold medalist known for her dominant presence on the court. A Baylor University standout and NCAA champion, she was the 2013 No. 1 draft pick and signed with the Phoenix Mercury. After playing for the Mercury for eleven seasons, except in 2022 when she was incarcerated on drug charges in Russia, she signed a one-year deal in January with the Dream in free agency.

Fans can watch the Dream play against the Storm on Friday at 7:00 P.M. PT.
