The Atlanta Dream defeated the Chicago Sky 88-70, led by a historic game by Brittney Griner.

Atlanta improved to 7-3 after the victory over Angel Reese and the Sky on Friday. They have now won two straight games, following the victory against the Indiana Fever.

During the game against the Dream, Griner passed Hall of Famer Lisa Leslie for the No. 2 slot on the WNBA's all-time blocks list.

Griner now has 823 blocks in her 13-year WNBA career.

"With a third block of the game, Brittney Griner moves to 823 career blocks, passing Hall of Famer Lisa Leslie for 2nd on the WNBA’s all-time blocks list," posted the official social media account of the Atlanta Dream public relations department.

The official social media account of the WNBA also shared the post, sending a message to Brittney Griner.

"Congrats, BG!" posted the WNBA

Brittney Griner finished the game against the Chicago Sky with seven points, four rebounds and three blocks.

Griner spent the first 12 years of her career with the Phoenix Mercury but only played 11 seasons as she was detained in Russia in 2022.

She joined the Dream during the free agency period. In her first season with Atlanta, she averages 12.6 points, 6.0 rebounds, 0.7 assists and 1.1 blocks per game.

Griner and the Atlanta Dream pulled off the blowout win over the Chicago Sky, defeating two of the most promising young players in the WNBA.

Angel Reese and Kamilla Cardoso are playing in their second season in the league. However, despite the talent, the Sky have struggled, moving to 2-7.
