The Indiana Fever clinched a playoff berth with a 24-20 record despite star guard Caitlin Clark missing the final 22 games of the regular season.
As Indiana fell 80-68 to the Atlanta Dream in Game 1 of the first-round WNBA playoff series on Sunday, Kelsey Mitchell poured in a playoff-career-high 27 points but could not offset the team’s injury woes.
With the series shifting back to Gainbridge Fieldhouse for Game 2 on Tuesday, an unlikely off-court moment has provided a jolt of energy to WNBA fans.
On Monday, Clark posted a behind-the-scenes video to Instagram capturing her efforts to learn juggling at the Fever’s rehab facility.
"Day one of learning a new skill at rehab," Clark said. "Today, we will be learning juggling. Syd[ney Colson] knows how to juggle, Sophie [Cunningham] claims she knows how to juggle, we're not really sure, and I cannot really juggle. ... So Syd has given me some pointers and now we will see how I do."
Her first attempts falter, eliciting playful jeers from Cunningham: "Stupid. Just so stupid! Get your ball." But by the fourth try, Clark strings together a smooth sequence, prompting cheers from her fellow Fever teammates.

Clark’s second professional season was derailed by a quad strain in May, a left groin injury in June and the season-ending right groin issue in mid-July.
All together, the Fever roster endured five season-ending injuries: Cunningham’s torn MCL, Colson’s torn ACL, Aari McDonald's broken bone in her right foot, Chloe Bibby's left knee injury and Clark's groin.
Despite these setbacks, Indiana remained competitive throughout the year, thanks to veterans Mitchell and Natasha Howard, as well as young talent like Aliyah Boston and Lexie Hull.
While some fans may like to forget this season due to the multitude of injuries, Indiana still finished sixth in the WNBA standings with a .545 winning percentage and has the chance to advance to the semifinals of the playoffs, all without their best player.
Game 2 between the Fever and Dream is at 7:30 p.m. ET Tuesday on ESPN.
