After Caitlin Clark was ruled out for at least two weeks with a quad strain, the Indiana Fever have now lost three straight.
On Friday, the Fever fell to the Connecticut Sun, the only winless team remaining in the WNBA, by a final score of 85-83 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
Aliyah Boston helped keep Indiana afloat despite trailing by double digits, tallying 17 points on 8-of-10 shooting, five rebounds and eight assists. However, Boston came just one challenge away from fouling out.
With 9:33 remaining in the fourth quarter, the officials called a questionable foul on Boston, which would have marked her fifth of the game.
The Fever were forced to use their first challenge of the day, hoping to keep Boston out of foul trouble. The challenge was successful, and Indiana retained their timeout, dropping Boston's foul count back down to four. She picked up her fifth later in the fourth.
During the review of the play, Clark decided to get involved with the officials. According to the Indy Star's Chloe Peterson, Fever assistant coach Karima Christmas-Kelly held her back after she argued the eventual overturned call.
"AB is called for her fifth foul, and the Fever immediately contest," Peterson wrote on X. "Karima Christmas-Kelly needed to hold CC back from talking too much to the officials. Fever are challenging the call."

Fever are challenging the call.
Although the Fever lost their second-straight without Clark, they may have some other issues on the horizon. Both point guard Sydney Colson (left leg), Clark's replacement, and Sophie Cunningham (right ankle) suffered game-ending injuries.
The Fever will have a much-needed weekend off before their next game, facing Brittney Sykes and the Washington Mystics for the second time this year on Tuesday.
