Caitlin Clark watched from the bench as the Indiana Fever came within reach of their first WNBA Finals appearance since 2015. However, injuries ultimately caught up to the team, falling to the Las Vegas Aces in an overtime Game 5 loss in the semifinals. Clark missed the second half of the season and the entire playoffs with groin and ankle issues, while teammates Sophie Cunningham and Aari McDonald also suffered season-ending injuries.
Lexie Hull emerged as a key contributor amid the Fever’s string of injuries. After Cunningham was ruled out for the season, Hull returned to the starting lineup, a role she held early in the year, and stayed there throughout the playoffs. During Indiana’s unlikely postseason run, she averaged 10.3 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists.
On Tuesday, Hull said farewell to her fourth season in the WNBA with a post on Instagram, sharing numerous pictures from the Fever's 2025 season.
"smiling through it all because I LOVE my job!!" Hull wrote on Instagram. "thankful for year 4! this group was a special one ❤️ last slide has a surprise "
The surprise came on the 20th slide of the post, where Hull had photoshopped black eyes onto all of her teammates, a nod to the injury the former Stanford guard dealt with during the season. And Clark took notice of Hull's post, leaving her own response.
"So proud of you ❤️❤️❤️❤️," Clark commented, while sharing the post on her story with four double-heart emojis..
Hull now sees her rookie contract with Indiana come to an end, and will enter the offseason as a restricted free agent. And all signs point to her returning for her fifth season with the Fever.
