The Indiana Fever won against the New York Liberty in a home game at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis on Saturday afternoon, with a final score of 102-88, defeating the previously unbeaten Liberty.
Fever guard Caitlin Clark led the charge with a stellar all-around performance, scoring 32 points while knocking down seven shots from beyond the arc. She also added eight rebounds and nine assists in one of her most complete showings of the season. Kelsey Mitchell scored 22 points, while Aliyah Boston and Lexie Hull also reached double figures. Sophie Cunningham, Sydney Colson and Damiris Dantas also made a significant impact.
In a press conference that took place after the game, a journalist informed Clark that she has a large fan base in Hong Kong and five of those fans came to Indianapolis to watch the game. When she found out that those fans flew 22 hours for the game, she also said, "I wish I could have met them."
The Fever posted the clip of the interaction to their official X account.
"If you know them, tell them, 'thank you for coming.' That's incredible," Clark said to the journalist. "Tell them I say hello and thanks for coming as well."
The journalist also asked Clark if she and the team would visit Hong Kong one day.
"I certainly hope to go to Hong Kong one day," Clark responded with a smile. "That’s incredible to see the type of reach that we can have and how much people love basketball across the globe.”
