The Chicago Sky dropped to 5-12 during the 2025 WNBA season after Sunday evening's loss to the 17-2 Minnesota Lynx. The 80 to 75 defeat marked the Sky's fifth loss in the last seven games.

Second-year forward Angel Reese led the way for Chicago with 16 points, 17 rebounds and six assists. She shot 7-for-16 from the floor and recorded a block as well.

On Sunday, Reese was named to the 2025 WNBA All-Star team, her second such honor in as many seasons. She was the lone Sky player to earn a spot on the team for the second consecutive year.

Following the team's 12th loss of the 2025 WNBA season, the Sky made a decision regarding Reese.

They announced that the second-year forward was the team's Player of the Month. This is the first time she has earned this honor from the Sky this season.

"The only player in the league averaging a double double. it’s only right that A5 is our Player of the Month ," the Sky wrote. "@MagellanCorp | Player of the Month."

Reese is currently averaging 12.6 points, a league-leading 12.8 rebounds and a team-high and career-best 3.9 assists per game. Over the last four contests, she has contributed 18.8 points, 17.0 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 1.5 steals per game.

She is also shooting 47.6% from the floor during this stretch, as well as 93.3% from the free throw line (via Pro Basketball Reference).

The Sky are back in action on Tuesday morning when they take on the 8-10 Washington Mystics. Tipoff is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. ET at Eaglebank Arena in Washington D.C.
