The Chicago Sky are looking to find free agents to help build their offense to better serve second-year rising star Angel Reese. The Sky recently chose not to extend a qualifying offer to their leading scorer from 2024, Chennedy Carter.
Reese dominated as a rebounder and defender. Her ability to stick to the glass earned her an All-Star appearance in 2024. Now she’s teaming up with McDonald’s for a burger that will have a sticky sauce on it.
Per a PR release by Mcdonald’s, the fast food joint is releasing “The Angel Reese Special” on Feb. 10. The special includes a BBQ Bacon Quarter Pounder with cheese, fries and a drink. The 22-year-old entrepreneur and basketball phenom claims the chain restaurant has “been a big part” of the athlete’s life.
“McDonald’s has always been a big part of my life, from grabbing a McChicken® Sandwich as a kid to being named a McDonald’s All American in 2020,” said Reese. “It’s really a dream come true to be the first-ever female athlete to have my own meal and be a part of McDonald’s amazing basketball legacy. I hope the Angel Reese Special inspires young athletes everywhere to never give up on pursuing their dreams.”
The beefy sandwich is influenced by Reese’s taste. The special clocks in at 1,230 calories.
Here’s a description of the sandwich and special:
“Featuring an unapologetically bold and smoky BBQ sauce with crispy bacon, this breakout QPC® is taking it to the next level. Each BBQ Bacon Quarter Pounder with Cheese is cooked when you order with a 100% fresh beef+ quarter pound patty, seasoned with just a pinch of salt and pepper, and sizzled on our flat iron grill.
It’s smothered in smoky BBQ sauce and layered with crispy bacon, two slices of melty American cheese, slivered onions and tangy pickles all on a soft and fluffy sesame seed hamburger bun. The Angel Reese Special with medium World Famous Fries® and Hi-C® (or other soft drink) round out the roster and has 1230 calories.”
The burger combo will be on the menu for a limited time.
