Diana Taurasi decided to hop on "The View" this week to discuss her retirement from the WNBA and the next chapter of her career. As soon as she joined the show, she had a funny exchange with Whoopi Goldberg.
Taurasi announced in an interview with TIME Magazine that she's done playing in the WNBA. After spending two decades in the pros, she revealed that she's "mentally and physically full." She'll leave basketball behind as a six-time Olympic gold medalist, five-time scoring champion, three-time WNBA champion and former MVP.
"In a record-setting career that saw her play 20 seasons, score more points and make more three-point shots than any player in WNBA history, she has earned the unquestioned respect of players around the globe, delivered electrifying moments and captivated fans again and again," WNBA commissioner Cathy Engelbert said in a statement. "On behalf of the WNBA family, I thank Diana for everything that she has brought to the WNBA - her passion, her charisma and, most of all, her relentless dedication to the game."
Taurasi finished her WNBA career averaging 18.8 points per game. She's the only player in the league's history to surpass the 10,000 mark in scoring.
Despite all that Taurasi has accomplished, Whoopi Goldberg butchered her last name when she was introduced on Wednesday.
Taurasi couldn't help but poke fun at that mistake from Goldberg. She replied, "Good to see you, Whippie. I mean, Whoopi."
It was a pretty hilarious moment to say the least.

Taurasi has proven in the past that she has the right personality to be a star on TV. If she's interested in making that her full-time profession, networks would most likely have interest in her.
After all, ESPN has been televising the "The Bird & Taurasi Show" for the past two NCAA Tournaments.
Regardless of what Taurasi chooses to do next, WNBA fans will be right by her side.
