Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark was the subject of the commentary of one conservative media personality, in light of the recent apology that ESPN analyst Chiney Ogwumike has issues on social media.

In one of her recent videos, conservative reporter and broadcast personality Megyn Kelly talked about the issue of racism in the WNBA, particularly towards Caitlin Clark, and how this got ESPN analyst Chiney Ogwumike in the tangle.

“This is ridiculous,” Kelly said. “Don’t worry, there’s never any penalty for fake racism reports. None. [Chiney Ogwumike] knows very well she can proceed with impunity on such reporting. By the way, she did not address her own false reporting.”

“She had reported that players and coaches, that’s a quote, of the Chicago Sky, quote, heard things that were out of bounds coming from fans and that the matter was serious. That was her reporting. Okay. So, that’s not a heat-of-the-moment take.”

“Yet, there does seem to be racism in the WNBA, one with much more clear evidence that is being totally ignored outside of conservative media.”

Chiney Ogwumike recently issued a public apology after making strong statements about alleged racist remarks directed at Chicago Sky players, including Angel Reese, during a game against the Indiana Fever. Initially, Ogwumike amplified concerns about fan behavior, stating that players and coaches had reported hearing inappropriate comments.

However, after the WNBA conducted an investigation and found no substantiated evidence of racist remarks, Ogwumike acknowledged that she had spoken too soon. In a heartfelt video shared on social media, she expressed regret for her initial comments, emphasizing that her words came from a place of care and concern for the league and its players.

Fans who traveled long distances to see Clark play were disappointed but still found value in meeting her. Ticket prices for upcoming Fever games have fluctuated dramatically, with resale prices for matchups against the Sun, Mystics, and Sky increasing by as much as 366% as anticipation builds for her return.

Despite the setbacks, the Fever remain hopeful that Caitlin Clark’s presence will revitalize their performance once she is back in action. The team’s home attendance has been among the highest in the league, largely due to Clark’s star power, and her absence has highlighted her influence on ticket sales and fan engagement.
