Tyasha Harris’ performance against the Dallas Wings received big praise from Indiana Fever head coach Stephanie White.

For the first time since July 22, Harris had a double-digit scoring output against Dallas during their home game on Friday. She finished with 15 points on a perfect 5-for-5 shooting from three to help the Fever secure the 98-87 win.

Coach White explained her decision to keep Harris on the court in the fourth quarter, using a three-guard lineup alongside Caitlin Clark and Kelsey Mitchell.

“Yeah, I mean, I have the utmost confidence in Ty,” White stated. “You know, on days when she’s feeling good, you can tell how she’s going to impact us.

"Her ability to shoot the ball. I was really proud that first one that she took cause there are times where she turns that one down. And we need her to be on the floor to knock down shots, to help us run offense.”

White also agreed with Clark's earlier statement during her post-game interview regarding Harris’ impact on and off the court.

“But, C’s right, I mean, Ty is a terrific leader for this team,” White continued. “She’s been through the ups and downs of the league in a short career. She’s been through injuries. She’s been through different kinds of roles, and she’s found her voice. And I think she’s found a confidence in understanding that she can come in and impact.”

Finally, the 2023 WNBA Coach of the Year discussed how Harris has been an outspoken leader of the team and how important this has been for the squad.

“I noticed that the first day of training camp, with using her voice and her leadership in the huddles, in timeouts," White continued. "I’m really proud of her, and she stepped up big. She was a turning point for us tonight.”

Next up for White and her squad is a five-game road trip, which kicks off on Sunday against the Atlanta Dream.
