The Indiana Fever’s five-game winning streak was snapped on Thursday by the Dallas Wings. It was only their third loss in 13 games, but had big playoff implications. The good news is the team received strong numbers from Makayla Timpson.
Kelsey Mitchell once again shined with a game-high 37 points along with five rebounds. Aliyah Boston supported her with 14 points and nine rebounds, while Caitlin Clark struggled with 10 points on 4-of-15 shooting, along with four rebounds and nine assists. However, the team got a huge lift from Timpson, who finished with 11 points and 12 rebounds.
She continues to play big for Indiana and has been a bright spot throughout the season. Timpson is proving that she can thrive as a fourth option on offense and that she can thrive in the frontcourt with Boston.
The Fever announced after Thursday’s matchup that Timpson registered her first career double-double. Her production helped fill the void left by Clark’s uncharacteristic subpar performance.

Timpson notched a new career high in points on Sunday versus the Atlanta Dream, dropping 20 points on Angel Reese and Co. Her development has been key to Indiana as it battles for the No. 3 seed with the Dream and Las Vegas Aces. Timpson is averaging better numbers across the board from her rookie season with 4.9 points on 61.9% shooting, with 4.4 rebounds.
However, what the stat sheets don’t show is her hustle and toughness on the court. She is not afraid of defending veterans and star forwards/centers in the league. Timpson has held her own and will be crucial in the Fever’s playoff push. The team will return to action on Saturday against the New York Liberty. It’s the third of its five-game road trip before ending the regular season with three of five matchups at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
