Fever makes strong Aliyah Boston claim on Wednesday

Aliyah Boston is one of the Indiana Fever’s most important players. She has been a consistent contributor all-season long, providing them with a strong interior presence capable of putting up big numbers. The team made a strong claim on Wednesday, campaigning for the All-Star forward to receive a WNBA honor.

Boston is averaging 16.9 points, 8.3 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.3 blocks through 36 games. She received her fourth All-Star nod this year. Along with Caitlin Clark and Kelsey Mitchell, they have powered Indiana to a 26-14 record and fifth the standings.

She is currently playing for Team USA at the FIBA World Cup. Boston plays a significant role in head coach Kara Lawson’s rotation, and will continue to be relied upon for her experience and elite skill set.

Fever campaigning for Aliyah Boston’s All-WNBA selection

The Fever posted Boston’s season stats on Instagram. They also lobbied for her to be selected as an All-WNBA Team member.

Boston is a do-it-all forward who can score in different ways. She can score from the midrange, post defenders up and also knock down three-pointers. Her versatility, particularly on defense, has also been one of Indiana’s biggest weapons.

The former South Carolina Gamecocks star and the Fever will return to action on Sept. 18. They will visit the Toronto Tempo at Coca-Cola Coliseum. A two-game homestand follows before they wrap up their season against the Minnesota Lynx on Sept. 24. Indiana is in a tightly-contested battle with the Las Vegas Aces and Atlanta Dream for the No. 3 seed. The team is 26-14 for the season and currently fifth in the standings. However, the results of its last four games will determine if it finishes as high as No. 3 or as low as No. 8.
