Aliyah Boston had a successful run with Team USA at the FIBA World Cup. They went undefeated in the tournament, and the national team won its fifth consecutive world championship. The Indiana Fever star forward talked about her experience and having the opportunity to represent the country. The team posted her clip and reacted to it.
Boston appeared in all six games off the bench. However, she played a significant role, providing Team USA with a strong inside presence and a floor spacer. The four-time WNBA All-Star averaged 6.2 points on 46.9% shooting, along with 3.3 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 17.2 minutes per game.
She and Indiana will play the first of their four remaining games on Friday. They will visit the Toronto Tempo at Coca-Cola Coliseum with a chance to move up the standings. The team is currently in fifth place with a 26-14 record.
Boston highlighted that it was an honor for her to be part of the national team. She added that it was special to have USA across her chest and help continue the team’s dominance. The Fever reacted to it in the caption.

“It was special, an opportunity that you can’t take for granted,” Boston said. “I feel like when you get the opportunity to play for the national team, I said this before, when you play for USA, USA has had such a standard, a high standard. They’ve had such consistent players. It’s been the same names, the same everything. So when you have a chance to put your name in that pool and to get an opportunity to wear that jersey, you do not take it for granted. For me, that was my mindset. I knew I wanted to play.
“Yes, you want to be ready, and you want to make sure that you’re ready for the final four in this playoff stretch, but I feel like this is an opportunity that you simply can’t decline. You get to wear USA, so for me, I was super excited and I took advantage of it.”
The Fever already clinched a playoff berth; however, the seedings have yet to be finalized. Their remaining games, along with other teams’ results, will determine Indiana’s seed come playoff time.
