Amid Caitlin Clark's absence, the Indiana Fever have found themselves on a three-game losing streak early into the 2025 WNBA season.
On Sunday, Aliyah Boston and the Fever returned home, only to lose to the last winless team in the league, falling to the Connecticut Sun 85-83.
Clark has been out over Indiana's last two games thanks to a left quad strain she suffered in Saturday's loss to the New York Liberty. The former Iowa Hawkeyes star will be out for a minimum of two weeks, making her earliest possible return on June 10 against the Atlanta Dream.
With Clark out for a few games, the Fever have needed someone to step up, and Boston has helped carry that load.
Against the Sun, Boston was one of the top performers, finishing with 17 points on 8-of-10 shooting, five rebounds, and eight assists. Newcomer DeWanna Bonner also played a key role in the fourth quarter, knocking down three 3-pointers to help the Fever erase a 15-point deficit.
But it was Boston who won Indiana's version of the Player of the Game award. After the loss, the Fever took to social media to announce the former South Carolina forward as Friday night's "Stat Leader of the Game."

Boston has been solid for Indiana through their first six games, averaging 16.8 points on 62.5% shooting, 10.0 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game.
But she could be asked to do even more going forward after the Fever were dealt two more injuries against Connecticut. Guards Sydney Colson (left leg) and Sophie Cunningham (right ankle) were forced to leave the game early, never to return.
Indiana will have three days off before their next game on Tuesday against the Washington Mystics. Then, they will travel to Chicago to face Angel Reese and the Sky on Saturday, June 7.
