The Indiana Fever are facing the Chicago Sky at United Center on on Saturday. This game was moved from Wintrust Arena before the season began, which was also before the news that star guard Caitlin Clark has been sidelined with a quad injury.
While Clark could return as soon as Tuesday when Indiana plays the Atlanta Dream, she is out for Saturday's contest in Chicago. Indiana will face a Sky team riding a two-game winning streak, both of which came over the Dallas Wings.
Unfortunately for the Fever, Clark is not the only person they will be missing on Saturday.
Ahead of this game, Chloe Peterson of IndyStarSports announced that Fever head coach Stephanie White will miss this game. Assistant Austin Kelly will step in as head coach.
"Head coach Steph White won't be at the Fever's game against the Chicago Sky on Saturday night, a team spokesperson confirmed to IndyStar on Saturday morning," she wrote. "White was not with the team on Friday during practice because of personal reasons, and her status was previously to be determined for Saturday's game."

Peterson added, "First assistant Austin Kelly will be the acting head coach, and assistants Karima Christmas-Kelly and Briann January will also step into bigger roles. It's currently unknown how long White will be away from the team."
Indiana will now have the task of snapping Chicago's winning streak without Clark and its head coach. Peterson added in her story that White has a lot of trust in her coaching staff, and it will be leaned on to begin this weekend.
