  • Damiris Dantas plays for the Indiana Fever, but is currently with Turkey's Botas SK during the WNBA offseason.
  • She recently shared her personal struggles: “You can’t be strong all the time…and that’s okay.”
  • Dantas becomes a WNBA free agent after her contract ends following the 2025 season.

Damiris Dantas recently completed her second season with the Indiana Fever. The 6-foot-4 center-forward came off the bench for head coach Stephanie White, averaging 4.6 points and 2.4 rebounds in 11.6 minutes per contest. Dantas was no star, but she played a significant role as part of the Fever’s rotation in the regular season.

The 32-year-old veteran recently left the United States for the WNBA offseason. She signed with Turkish side Botas SK, which plays in the Turkish Women’s Basketball Super League. Dantas was a dominant force in their last game, dropping a 28-point, 10-rebound double-double in their 113-104 overtime loss to Nesibe Aydin on Oct. 25.

Dantas recently made waves on social media after she shared an emotional post about her basketball journey. The Brazilian posted about her recent interview with ESPN, where she reflected on the path she took to become a WNBA player.

Dantas got deeply personal in her message as she admitted to the mental health issues she struggled with through the years. “You can’t be strong all the time, and that’s okay. Asking for help is not weakness, it is courage,” part of Dantas’ heartfelt post read.

On Saturday, Dantas took to social media again to share a life update amid the WNBA offseason. She is currently still in Turkey, and it appears that she’s enjoying her time abroad.

“October Finds May November, my month, be full of good things, peace and achievements! ✨ ️️” she posted on Instagram, as translated to English from Portuguese.

A couple of Dantas’ photos show her in Botas gear. They will be back in action on Sunday against Emlak Konut, as Dantas and Co. look to bounce back from their overtime loss last week.

Dantas also shared a video of herself putting in work in the gym. She also shared a couple of food photos as the Fever vet continues to explore the gastronomic offerings in Turkey.

Dantas’ current contract with Indiana ended at the conclusion of the 2025 season. She will officially become an unrestricted free agent once the window officially opens on Feb. 1.
